The music of Bart Budwig bridges the gap between the wide-open sprawl of classic Americana, the insightful observations of folk and the grit and honesty of authentic country. Recently relocating to Enterprise from the Palouse country of Idaho, Budwig brings songs that are highly evolved, utterly natural and unwaveringly human. Her recently released CD She’s Lookin’ Back contains eleven original songs that range from sultry to sassy, backed by top notch musicians including Warren Rand (alto and soprano sax), John Willis (electric bass), and Dan Gaynor (piano and organ), Corby Simpson (upright bass), and Todd Strait (drums). Her music is heavily influenced by the likes of Etta James, Billie Holiday, Abbey Lincoln, Aretha Franklin. She moved to Lostine, Oregon with her family in 2004 and has been an integral part of the local music scene ever since.
